Various formats for training material have been developed within SMART-Control to foster the applicability of the newly developed tools and internet learning. All training materials are provided free of charge and can be used independently of training courses. If you are interested in an in-depth training course to learn how to use the INOWAS platform, please contact us.

1. Online documentation

For each of the developed simulation tools, an online documentation describes the theoretical background as well as the various features of the tools:

In addition, some features have been added to the following tools within SMART-Control:

2. Step-by-step tutorial

Step-by-step online tutorials allowto easily get familiar with the various features of the implemented tools. They were designed to guide through the setup of parameters, the manipulation of data to the running of the tool and the results visualisation. With the help of examples, the user can apply and test the tool in his own speed and all by himself.

3. Online seminars

The SMART-Control Online Seminar Series took place April – June 2022. A video record of the online seminars can be SOON found here:

Online Seminar #1: Initial risk assessment

In this first seminar you will learn how to assess the microbial risk at the MAR facilities using the web-based  quantitative microbial risk assessment as well as how to quantify the underground residence time between an infiltration basin and an extraction well based on temperature time series data using the web-based INOWAS platform.

Date: 05 April 2022

Online Seminar #2: Real-time monitoring

In the second online seminar you will learn how to connect existing real-time monitoring sensors to the web-based INOWAS platform, how to upload time series data and how to process monitoring data on the INOWAS platform.

Date: 03 May 2022

Online Seminar #3: Groundwater modelling and Scenario analysis

In the third part of the series on online seminars you will learn how to setup and run a numerical groundwater flow model based on MODFLOW on the web-based INOWAS platform including results evaluation and scenarios analysis.
