Between 11-14 October 2021, our colleagues from adelphi Berlin together with members of the INOWAS group at TU Dresden contributed to a joint mission in Cyprus together with the project partners from the University of Cyprus. The scope of the mission was to co-develop with interested MAR operators a roadmap for applying the SMART-Control approach to new sites in Cyprus. The specific replication workshops and bilateral meetings aimed at presenting specific options for applying the project tools for the development of new MAR schemes at the identifyed sites, to rise awareness about the opportunity to mitigate risks associated with MAR and improved monitoring systems, to present recent research results from the project and assess the site-specific conditions in Cyprus where these can be implemented.
